LED Garden Lighting

The development of LED lighting has provided a new breakthrough in design and energy saving.  Being very small LED's can be used in many areas where normal lighting is not possible. A LED that consumes 3 – 5 watts can generally give the equivalent of 20w of light! 

Outdoor LED garden lighting is safe, inexpensive to run, robust, reliable, easy to install and great to look at. LED technology is advancing rapidly and good quality external light fittings can now be purchased with ease. It is worth mentioning that most LED garden or exterior light fittings are supplied as sealed units and therefore once the fitting fails the whole unit will need replacing as opposed to just the lamp.

Conventional low voltage garden lighting schemes generally utilise halogen lamps that can have a very high running temperature, but generally speaking LED (light emitting diodes) lighting runs ‘cool to the touch’. Exciting coloured lighting schemes can be created using LED technology and you can always mix and match with traditional halogen lighting if necessary.
